Audition Requirements

Charter Arts is a regional charter school.  Any student who resides in Pennsylvania, who is entering 9th-11th grade is eligible to audition.  Auditions are scheduled in February/March for the following school year.  Audition requests for the 2018-2019 school year will be accepted after November 15, 2017.

The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) is a regional charter high school attracting students from a ten county area in eastern Pennsylvania. Students audition for acceptance into one of seven arts majors: dance, figure skating, instrumental music, literary arts, theatre, visual art, and vocal music.

Charter Arts’ unique arts centered curriculum pairs pre-professional training in the artistic major with a rigorous core academic program. Students study their art discipline for half of the school day and a full academic schedule during the second half of the day. All auditions to attend Charter Arts are academically blind and students are accepted based only upon their artistic talent and potential. What makes Charter Arts unique, and is a key component in the success of our students, is the arts emphasis within the curriculum. Charter Arts has created a culture of high achievement across all art and core disciplines. Our creative students think and learn differently.

Each artistic area at Charter Arts has its own unique set of audition requirements.

These parameters are meant to help the prospective student fully prepare for a successful audition at Charter Arts.
