Tom Maher is the Brass Specialist and Orchestra Director at the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts). He teaches a variety of courses including Jazz Lab Band, Harmony, Composition and Arranging, Concert Band, and Music for Film. He has also worked closely on multiple Charter Arts musical productions, most recently as Pit Conductor of Sweeney Todd. He currently serves as the advisor of the Tri-M Music Honor Society Chapter 7881. In the community, Mr. Maher serves as a member of the Allentown Symphony’s Composer Consortium.
As a graduate of Temple University’s 5-year BM in Music Education and Jazz Studies, Mr. Maher has had the fortune of studying from such musicians as Nick Marchione, Rodney Marsalis, Dr. Matthew Brunner, Dr. Emily Threinen and Dr. Rollo Dilworth. Mr. Maher is passionate about a wide range of music topics, including music technology, theory, jazz studies, film scoring/composition, brass techniques, conducting, and musical theater.’
