Ann Hugosson was raised in the Philadelphia suburbs, during which time she cultivated a love for literature and photography. She attended Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts at Bucknell University in 1984 as a photography major, eventually going on to study photography for two years at New York University. Ann then finished her undergraduate studies at Penn State, University Park where she received a BS in Secondary Education/Communications. Teaching middle school English is what brought Ann to the Lehigh Valley originally, a location that Ann truly enjoys.
Following two years of living and teaching in Sweden, Ann developed an interest in teaching English to non-native speakers. Thus, a Master of Arts degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from West Chester University. Ann has taught ESL at every level from kindergarten-adult. Most recently, Ann completed a Masters in Educational Leadership at Lehigh University’s Urban Principals Academy (UPal).
Ann enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, dog and two cats. She also enjoys playing tennis, captaining competitive tennis teams, reading, traveling, and baking. Ann is thrilled to bring her over-twenty-years of teaching experience to Charter Arts!
