Rae Labadie is a theatre artist, administrator and educator with international experience in engaging communities, creating worlds and managing artists. Dedicated to utilizing theatre arts to build social awareness, encourage differences and promote self-confidence, Rae thrives on new works and socially relevant material, and is eager to entice new audiences to experience the dynamism of communal theatre.
Ms. Labadie is a Charter Arts alum, and holds a BFA in Directing, Playwriting and Production from the University of the Arts, where she received the Excellence in Directing Award. Over the past eight years, she has worked with professional artists and theatre companies in Philadelphia, the Lehigh Valley, New York, Ho Chi Minh City, Cite Soleil, and Dublin. Ms. Labadie obtained her CELTA English Teaching Certification from Cambridge University in Vietnam and taught all ages and proficiency levels in the country’s top-rated language school. Ms. Labadie is a member of a community partnership between Stroudsburg and Cite Soleil, Haiti where she recently led a team of American teaching artists and Haitian teachers in establishing an arts education curriculum to the city’s underprivileged elementary/ middle school.
It is an absolute dream to return to Charter Arts and Ms. Labadie is eager to set her directing, designing and producing experiences to new heights, spearheading the Production Design department.
