Brigham Madden-Cox was born and raised between Malvern and Phoenixville, PA. In 2010 he enrolled at Brown University. During his four years of undergraduate studies at Brown, Brigham sang in an A Cappella group, studied abroad in Copenhagen,, and worked for 95.5 WBRU, an FM radio station in Providence. In 2014 he graduated with a B.A. in English and Literary Arts.
Brigham loved Brown and English/Literary Arts so much that he decided to continue on at the university in pursuit of a Masters of Arts in Teaching with a focus on secondary English education. During his second student teaching practicum, he taught at Paul Cuffee Upper Charter School, where he developed a passion for the close-knit, student-centered qualities of many charter schools. He graduated again in May 2015 and found Charter Arts to be a school with similar values! As a poet and an avid student of literature, Brigham hopes to impart the essential life skills of self-expression and empathy to his students. He can’t wait to work towards this goal as a teacher at Charter Arts, and to continue learning with and from his new students and peers.
