Mrs. Rosania-Harvie came to Charter Arts in 2017 from a 17 year career in arts and education and a 20 year ongoing career as an artist. Her focus is on overall school and community safety, culture and wellness. A resident of the Lehigh Valley, she has always considered herself an artist-teacher. She first earned her Bachelors in Fine Arts with a minor in Theater and K-12 teaching certification from Kutztown University.
She enjoyed an 8 year career as a full time art educator at Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington, New Jersey. While teaching a variety of artistic mediums, she continued her studio practice and earned a Masters of Fine Arts from Vermont College of Fine Arts in visual art and culture. She furthered her education to become a New Jersey certified educational supervisor through Centenary University and spent 10 years in the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District in Annandale, New Jersey as Supervisor of Fine, Performing, and Practical Arts. In this position, she developed curriculum, ran a large black and white darkroom, maintained facilities and budgets, and supported teachers in the areas of teaching and learning as well as building student relationships. MaryJo holds both a Pennsylvania and New Jersey K-12 principal certification through Rowan University. As an administrator, she combines her love of the arts with her passion for student success and a knowledge that all students can succeed when they are in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.
