The school will create activity and forge new connections with nonprofit organizations and businesses that surround the school. The project will contribute to the growth of south Bethlehem as a cultural and educational hub. The project will be an idea lab for the arts and arts education through multiple collaborative opportunities. The 350-seat theatre and performing commons will be available to share with sister art organizations.
Charter Arts will partner and support the sustainability of established organizations utilizing studio space in PBS 39, the Banana Factory and SteelStacks during under-utilized day hours. The link between Lehigh University, Northampton Community College, Broughal Middle School and Charter Arts has opportunities for academic partnerships. There will be a certain synergy with other arts and culture-related organizations in the south side including Touchstone Theatre, Godfrey Daniels, and Zoellner Center for the Arts.
