The new facility will be built to fully support the unique requirements necessary for a full and comprehensive arts based education.
The exciting new Charter Arts Theatre, will be a 350 seat proscenium theatre that will showcase dance, theatre and music productions throughout the school year. The theatre resides in the middle of the school and becomes the heart of the new building. A separate entrance to the theatre with a large lobby will allow direct access for community organizations to utilize the Charter Arts theatre for their own performances. The 350 seat sized theatre not only serves the needs of the school, but also fills a community need for additional theatrical space in the Lehigh Valley.
Adjacent to the large theatre, to the right of the public entrance, is a large pre-function lobby to serve as a student gathering space or informal performance space. It will be available for use by the community for meetings or dinner functions and will accommodate up to 200 guests.
The outdoor performing roof is situated on the third floor adjacent to both the science and visual art rooms. Designed and built with green principals, the roof serves as an ecological science lab, plein-air workspace and outdoor performing venue. Imagine walking down Third Street and being serenaded by music billowing from the rooftop as students practice their craft.
