The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts will host an exhibit, titled In the Moment by famed photographer Larry Fink, as part of the Olympus InVision Photo Festival.

The exhibit will run from November 7th through November 30^th.

An Opening Reception and Talk-Back with Larry Fink will be held on Thursday, November 7th from 5pm-7pm in the Fowler Art Gallery on the school campus, located at 675 East Broad Street in Bethlehem. 

There is no fee for the Exhibit or Opening Reception event.  Donations will be accepted to benefit The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts and The Charter Arts Foundation.

The talent of this world-renowned artist, famous for capturing beautiful and iconic moments, will be on display as he explores and captures life ‘in the moment’ at a high school dedicated to enriching the lives of young artists.

Larry Fink is a professional photographer of over fifty five years.  His work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of Modern Art, the San Francisco Museum of Art, and the Musee de l’Elysee in Switzerland, among others.  He has been awarded two John Simon Guggenheim Fellowships in 1976 and 1979, and two National Endowment for the Arts, Individual Photography Fellowships in 1978 and 1986.  He has been teaching for over fifty years, and for the last twenty five years has been a professor of photography at Bard College.

Recent solo shows include Box Gallerie in Belgium and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in California.  Retrospectives of Fink’s photography have been shown at the Sheldon Art Gallery in St. Louis, Missouri and the Fahey Klein Gallery in Los Angeles.  His latest retrospective has been traveling since 2012 and was recently on view at the Gas Natural Fenosa Museum of Contemporary Art in A Coruna, Spain and will be soon to be on view at the Pablo Gargallo Museum in Zaragoza, Spain.

Fink has published numerous books.  The Vanities: Hollywood Parties 2000-2009 (Schirmer/Mosel 2011), features photographs which were made while Fink was under contract with Vanity Fair magazine for a decade.   Work from The Vanities is currently on view at the Municipal Exhibition Hall of San Benito in Valladolid, Spain.  . In 2008, he was commissioned by Vanity Fair to cover the political trail of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain. These photographs were shown at the Pace/MacGill Gallery in New York and at the Robert Klein Gallery in the Fall of 2008.

In addition to Vanity Fair, his work has appeared in W, GQ, Detour, The New York Times Magazine, and The New Yorker.   Upcoming publications include two monographs, The Beats (powerHouse Books, Spring 2014) and Kindred Spirits (Minor Matters Books, Spring 2014).
