Talia Sheehan is a Bahamian-born conductor, singer, pianist, writer, lyricist, graphic designer, and music educator. She is a Vocal Music teacher at the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts. She is a sought-after guest clinician and consultant, coaching ensembles and organizations into articulating their institutional vision, making better music, and creating a more positive and sustainable culture. As a singer Talia has appeared on numerous commercial albums, including three GRAMMY®-nominated recordings. Her poetry and song lyrics are increasingly in demand and have been featured in performances by ensembles across the United States, including an upcoming world premiere at Carnegie Hall in 2026. Her graphic design work can be found in cover artwork for Oxford University Press, advertisements in Billboard Magazine, and album artwork for Cappella Records, among many other places.
She is currently serving as Director of Marketing and Design for Music in the Somerset Hills, a multifaceted arts organization in central New Jersey. Talia is also the co-founder of Artefact Institute, a collective of “culture creators” that works with individuals and non-profit organizations to build living contexts for the arts and to strengthen community. She is a graduate of Westminster Choir College, where she majored in Music Education, and she is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Music Education at Columbia University Teachers College.
Talia lives and works in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley together with her husband, composer and conductor Benedict Sheehan, and together they have seven daughters who range in age from eight to twenty-four. In her spare time she likes to think about what it would be like to have spare time.
