Part of the 2014 Summer Academy, a program of community workshops and day camps.
Acting Workshop for Commercial, TV and Film (limited openings available)
This workshop is taught by an industry professional with over 18 years experience as a casting director and producer and more than 600 credits in commercial, television and film. Did you know that there is a thriving local (PA/NJ/Del) acting industry and there is a wide variety of work available for actors of all ages, especially those in the 30-70 age range? This workshop will introduce the beginning actor or the theater actor who is making the transition to the on-camera industry, critical techniques required when auditioning for commercial, tv or film projects. Students will work in front of the camera each class to improve their ‘cold-read’ skills. Students will learn tricks of top bookers and how to avoid the bad habits that knock an actor out of the running at an audition. The class will also include valuable information on how to navigate the business, including: understanding the local market vs. NY/LA, working with casting directors and agents, headshots/resumes, and MORE! (This class is designed for adults, but a 16-17 year old student may be considered.) Tuesday Evenings: 6pm-8pm Four week session begins July 8th.
