“Injury Prevention for Dancers” FREE Community Seminar

Charter Arts will be hosting a monthly community education presentation with the healthcare providers of St. Luke’s Performing Arts Medicine Institute. This collaborative series will focus on providing community members access to valuable information on health topics that affect artists.

The first presentation will take place on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 7pm in the Charter Arts Theatre and will focus on Injury Prevention Techniques for Dancers. The evening’s presenter will be Isabella Scangamor, PT, DPT.

We welcome families, students, studio owners, dancers, and dance teachers to come and learn about how to keep dancers up on their feet.

About the Presenter:
Isabella Scangamor PT, DPT Isabella completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and her undergraduate education at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, where she was a dance science major.  She is currently working towards her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification through the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency at St. Luke’s. She completed her final clinical rotation at Harkness Center for Dance Injuries at NYU Langone. She offers Injury Prevention Workshops to local dance programs and has assisted in the formation of the Performing Arts Medicine Initiative at St. Luke’s.  In the clinic, she specializes in performing artists, flexibility athletes and Pilates-based rehabilitation. She strives to bring a holistic, total-body approach to all patients.
