Summary of presentation:
Join us for this virtual event where the purpose of this lecture is to understand the different components of fitness and why they pertain to the dancer, to discuss training methods for each component of fitness, and to develop the skills to initiate a beginner training program
 
Bios of Presenters:
 
Isabella Scangamore DPT, PT: 
 
Isabella completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and her undergraduate education at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, where she was a dance science major.  She is currently working towards her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification through the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency at St. Luke’s. She completed her final clinical rotation at Harkness Center for Dance Injuries at NYU Langone. She offers Injury Prevention Workshops to local dance programs and has assisted in the formation of the Performing Arts Medicine Initiative at St. Luke’s.  In the clinic, she specializes in performing artists, flexibility athletes and Pilates-based rehabilitation. She strives to bring a holistic, total-body approach to all patients.
 
Hannah Cackowski CSCS
Hannah is currently the head sports performance coach at Wilson Area High School and is the head coach of the Rookie Performance Program for St Luke’s University Health Network. Hannah has participated in cheerleading, dance, and gymnastics and won a National Championship with the University of Delaware cheerleading team in 2020. Currently she is pursuing a masters degree in Integrated Exercise Science. Hannah enjoys working with dancers, gymnasts, and cheerleaders and helping them develop their athletic skills and overall health.
